The role

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Director to lead and oversee the successful delivery of a portfolio of insurance transformation programmes.


This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful execution of complex client engagements, maintaining strong executive-level relationships, driving commercial performance, and developing high-performing delivery teams.You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and a key member of Alchemy’s leadership team, providing strategic oversight across multiple programmes while ensuring delivery excellence, operational discipline, and sustainable growth.


Working across a broad range of insurance transformation initiatives, including core platform implementations, business change programmes, and operational transformation engagements, you will be responsible for balancing client success, commercial outcomes, and delivery performance while helping Alchemy continue to scale its consulting capability and market presence.


The ideal candidate will bring significant experience leading large-scale technology and business transformation programmes within the insurance industry and will be comfortable operating with senior client stakeholders and executive sponsors.


What you’ll do

  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring successful delivery against agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Provide executive-level leadership and governance across complex transformation programmes and strategic client accounts.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for delivery, operational, commercial, and client issues, ensuring effective resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Build trusted relationships with client executives and senior stakeholders, becoming a recognised advisor and delivery partner.
  • Drive delivery excellence through effective governance, reporting, forecasting, resource management, and performance monitoring.
  • Partner with commercial and sales teams to support bids, proposals, mobilisation activities, and account growth opportunities.
  • Monitor portfolio financial performance, including revenue, margin, utilisation, forecasting, and commercial outcomes.
  • Support the successful mobilisation of new client engagements and transformation programmes.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across consulting, business analysis, technical analysis, quality assurance, PMO, and delivery functions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery capability, operational efficiency, and client value across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the development of delivery standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Support the development, mentoring, and growth of delivery leaders and consulting talent across the business.
  • Contribute to Alchemy’s strategic growth objectives as part of the senior leadership community.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Significant experience delivering Guidewire implementation or transformation programmes within the insurance industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing revenue, margin, forecasting, and delivery performance, specifically with fixed-price and outcome-based programme experience.
  • Experience of negotiating and managing complex contractual engagements with clients.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent client engagements and delivery portfolios.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed or global delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of programme delivery, governance, risk management, resource planning, and change management.
  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining oversight of delivery execution.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

Desired

  • Experience with DuckCreek, Majesco, EIS, Sapiens or similar relevant platforms
  • Experience within London Market or Specialty Insurance.
  • Experience supporting business development activities, proposals, and client growth initiatives.
